I plan to create a short digital story as my visual based memoir. In this memoir, I plan to describe my life in Emory and how the life here makes me differ from how I was.
The main idea I have for this memoir is that I transformed from an "explorer" to an "observer" after I started my life in Emory. I will compare my life attitude before and after I came to Emory. This change actually results in the difference of place that I live. Before I went to America and studied in Emory, I lived in a city which is called Shenzhen in China. l lived there for my whole life before I went to college. Shenzhen is one of the biggest cities in China and always has new things going on. When I lived in Shenzhen, I was fond of trying new things; I went to the latest-opened restaurants and saw newly established exhibitions. I regarded my identity as an 'explorer" that I seldom carefully observed and thought about my life.
However, after I went to Emory, my life has been set in a very small space. Except for hanging out with friend, I stayed in the small Emory campus everyday. Everything in my life happens mainly in three places, my dorm, classrooms and dinning halls. However, I am a person who is alway able to make my life be away from bore. I started to focus on the small changes of my seemingly routined life. Surprisingly, I saw and felt something that I had never experience before. I learn to appreciate the beauty of nature and establish a supportive and friendly relationship with the people surrounding me.
I actually feel excited to have the opportunity to present my real life changes in a such creative way. I am fond of taking photos to record the amazing moments of my life. I plan to take approximately eight to ten photos to show how Emory has influenced me. I am going to edit my photos with those photo editing apps and softwares to help me polish my work,
